Located in the Halaib Triangle, near the Egyptian-Sudanese border, Elba is a remote and breathtaking dive destination known for its stunning reefs and exceptional biodiversity. One of the highlights is the rarely visited wreck of the SS Isola di Levanzo, resting near a dramatic drop-off and scattered with century-old sherry bottles, offering a unique historical dive experience. The surrounding coral-rich shallows are teeming with life, from vibrant reef fish to reef sharks, making it a dream site for adventurous divers.
Further south lies Abu Fandera, a spectacular 6-kilometer reef system just south of St. John’s. Divers can navigate coral-filled passages adorned with soft corals and encounter a thriving marine ecosystem that includes reef sharks, colorful reef fish, and often impressive schools of humphead parrotfish.
