The myth goes that each King reigns over one of the four main islands of Raja Ampat: Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo.
For those embarking on this reverse journey from Ternate to Sorong, the adventure begins in the lesser-known but spectacular waters of Halmahera. From remote muck sites to vibrant coral walls, Halmahera offers a rare glimpse of untouched marine life and pristine seascapes. Sailing southward, you will explore the colorful reefs and lagoons of Misool before entering the heart of Raja Ampat, where the world’s highest marine biodiversity awaits.
Cruising through hundreds of islands, hidden coves, and traditional villages, you will witness a stunning variety of underwater landscapes and creatures, from majestic manta rays and reef sharks to delicate seahorses and pygmy critters. Each day offers new encounters and unparalleled freedom, making this 12-day expedition a true journey into the very heart of the Coral Triangle.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1:
Board the stunning Tiaré, your home for the next 11 nights in Ternate, and be ready to depart around 12:00 pm.
Day 2-11:
We offer 3-4 dives daily, including a night dive, if possible. When crossing, only 2 dives a day can be scheduled.
Day 12:
After a last breakfast and goodbyes with the crew, it’s time to disembark in Sorong.
Raja Ampat, Misool, and Halmahera offer some of the richest marine biodiversity on earth, with reefs ranging from soft coral gardens and sea fans to walls, caves, seagrass beds, and black and white sand slopes. Divers can encounter giant manta rays, reef sharks, wobbegongs, epaulette sharks, sea turtles, Napoleon wrasse, cuttlefish, pipefish, seahorses, and massive schools of trevally, snappers, and barracuda, while night dives reveal nudibranchs, ghost pipefish, and other tiny critters, making every dive a spectacular and unforgettable experience.
The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
