Embark on a breathtaking 10-day journey through Raja Ampat, one of the world’s most pristine and biodiverse marine regions. From the bustling harbor of Sorong, you’ll sail past dramatic karst islands, hidden lagoons, and turquoise waters teeming with life. Above and below the surface, Raja Ampat offers a surreal mix of vibrant coral gardens, towering limestone cliffs, and encounters with some of the ocean’s most remarkable creatures. This expedition combines adventure, relaxation, and world-class diving for an unforgettable experience.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1 – Sorong
Pickup from the airport or hotel and boarding of the liveaboard. After a welcome drink, enjoy a safety and boat briefing and settle into your cabins. Lunch is served, followed by an afternoon and possibly a night dive, time permitting.
Day 2 & 3 – Dampier Straits
Dive up to 4 times per day at the best sites chosen based on tides and currents. This area is home to wobbegong sharks, pygmy seahorses, and abundant schools of reef fish. Currents and underwater topography allow you to immerse yourself in the heart of marine life.
Day 4 – Manta & Wofo
Enjoy 1–2 dives at sites known for manta ray sightings before heading to Wofo for 2 additional dives.
Day 5 – Wayag
Explore the iconic karst islands of Wayag, admired for their panoramic views, pristine beaches, and hidden lagoons.
Day 6 – Piaynemo
Three dives in Piaynemo showcase huge coral gardens, schools of fish, hunting sharks in Melissa Garden, as well as slopes with black and whip coral. Begin the long journey southward while enjoying a stunning sunset.
Day 7 & 8 – South Raja Ampat
Dive in the Misool area on selected sites, where the underwater scenery and panoramas differ from the central and northern regions. Keep an eye out for endemic pygmy seahorses in sea fans while observing reef and pelagic species.
Day 9 – South Raja Ampat
Two dives in the Balbulol area before starting the return journey to Sorong.
Day 10 – Sorong
After breakfast, disembark and transfer to the airport or your hotel, concluding your Raja Ampat adventure.
Raja Ampat offers an astonishing array of marine life, from tiny pygmy seahorses and colorful nudibranchs to wobbegong sharks, reef sharks, hunting pelagics, and graceful manta rays. Coral gardens burst with hard and soft corals, sea fans, and whip corals, while schools of fusiliers, batfish, and trevallies create a dynamic underwater spectacle. Each dive offers the chance to witness both rare endemic species and vibrant reef communities in crystal-clear waters.
The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
