Explore Raja Ampat’s most iconic dive sites, from vibrant coral gardens and bustling reef slopes to mysterious muck dives teeming with rare critters. Encounter manta rays, Wobbegong sharks, pygmy seahorses, and schooling fish in crystal-clear waters. Beyond diving, enjoy breathtaking karst island hikes, peaceful lagoons, birdwatching excursions, and visits to remote island villages - an unforgettable adventure through one of the world’s richest marine biodiversity hotspots.
Sample Itinerary:
Day 1: Embarkation at Sorong Harbor (SOQ)
- Upon embarkation, after the general boat and dive briefing, guests will enjoy a check dive at Matan Island (around 1 nautical mile from Sorong). The vessel will then cruise toward Misool following the check dive.
Note: The check dive may be skipped if there’s a delay in guest arrival on this day.
Day 2: Daram (4 Dives)
- Dive 1: Daram’s Reef: A submerged reef that rises to just 1 m below the surface. The top is beautifully covered with a hard coral garden, sloping down all around. Incredible fish life; one of the best places around Misool to spot Wobbegong sharks, with occasional manta sightings.
- Dive 2 & 3: Andiamo: A massive site with pinnacles and a ridge. It’s too large to cover in one dive, so groups are split, some dive the Pinnacle, others the Ridge, then switch for the next dive. Both sections feature abundant soft corals, sea fans, and impressive fish life including Fusiliers, Trevally, Napoleon wrasse, and sometimes Mantas.
- Sunset Dive 4: Candy Store: A stunning site with two small rocks protruding from the surface. Rich fish life and excellent macro opportunities.
Day 3: Fiabacet (4 Dives)
- Dive 1: Whale Rock: A fantastic site with stunning corals. A wall on the south, a slope on the north, and a ridge connecting other rocks with a dramatic pinnacle rising to 14 m. Frequent sightings of Blacktip reef sharks, turtles, Napoleons, and Bumphead parrotfish.
- Dive 2: Nudi Rock: Northern wall and southern plateau, mostly covered in soft corals, gorgonians, black and green corals. Overrun with Fusiliers, Barracuda, Napoleons, turtles, Trevallies, Blacktip reef sharks, and a good chance of spotting Pygmy seahorses.
- Dive 3: Tank Rock: Connected to Nudi Rock via an underwater ridge. Similar coral and fish life to Nudi Rock — equally beautiful.
- Night Dive: Romeo: A famous site for night dives. High chances of encountering the Raja Ampat Epaulette shark. Features a lovely hard coral garden on top.
Day 4: Boo (4 Dives)
- Dive 1: Boo West: Located at Boo Island’s western tip. Great south-facing wall and a steep northern slope, with an amazing pinnacle to the west. Rich in gorgonians and soft corals. Expect schools of Fusiliers, Surgeonfish, Napoleons, Blacktip and Grey reef sharks, and occasional Mantas.
- Dive 2: Puri Pinnacle: A submerged reef rising to 7 m, with four pinnacles to the north. Fantastic fish life, including Barracuda, Bigeye Trevallies, and occasionally large schools of Mobulas.
- Dive 3: Kanim: A long ridge extending from the island's southwest tip. Beautiful coral growth, particularly in the northwest. Home to Fusiliers, Surgeonfish, Napoleons, Batfish, and common Leaf scorpionfish.
- Sunset Dive: Juliet: A small but vibrant site. A northern wall with many cracks, schools of Barracuda, Batfish, Bumphead parrotfish, plus a wealth of macro life.
Day 5: Warakaraket (4 Dives)
- Dive 1: Magic Mountain: One of Misool’s top dive sites, with excellent chances of seeing both Oceanic and Reef Mantas. A submerged reef rising to 5 m, with steep slopes and a western ridge. Two manta cleaning stations — one on top, one near the ridge. Incredible coral and fish life.
- Dive 2: Boo Windows: A well-known Misool site with vibrant coral coverage — gorgonians, sea fans, black and green corals, and soft corals. Teeming with Fusiliers, Barracuda, Batfish, turtles, reef sharks, and Pygmy seahorses. The dive usually finishes near the "windows" for dramatic topography.
- Dive 3: Boo East: Ideal for macro photography. Excellent for Pygmy seahorses and nudibranchs. The reef is lush with coral and occasionally visited by Mantas during falling tides.
- Night Dive: Boo Windows.
Day 6: Wayilbatan (4 Dives)
- Dive 1: Orange Peel: A beautiful ridge to the north and a stunning wall to the west, covered in orange soft corals. The reef top features hard and leather coral. Expect Fusiliers, Surgeonfish, Batfish, Barracuda, Bumphead parrotfish, and Napoleons.
- Dive 2: The Four Kings: A submerged reef with four pinnacles, ranging from 5 m to 24 m. Rich coral coverage and exceptional fish life including Barracuda, Bigeye Trevallies, Batfish, and occasional Mantas.
- Dive 3: Wedding Cake: A relaxed afternoon dive with a soft coral-covered wall and strong macro potential — good chance of spotting Pygmy seahorses.
- Lagoon Tour: Speedboat excursion into the lagoon.
- Night Dive: Batu Barracuda: Great for spotting Raja Ampat Epaulette sharks, crustaceans, cuttlefish, and the occasional frogfish.
Day 7: Sagof (3 Dives)
- Dive 1: Karang Sagof: A submerged reef that rises to 6 m, with a top covered in massive brain corals and bommies — home to Wobbegong sharks hiding underneath. From the shallow top, the site slopes steeply with a ridge, beautifully covered in corals. Fish life is spectacular: Fusiliers, Batfish, Napoleon wrasse, Bumphead parrotfish, schooling Barracuda, Giant Trevally, and Bigeye Trevally are commonly seen.
- Dive 2: Baby Rock: A small rock emerging at the surface, featuring a stunning wall and ridge. The reef is richly adorned with soft corals, gorgonians, sea fans, black coral, and green coral. Expect Fusiliers, Batfish, Napoleon wrasse, Barracuda, and the occasional Giant Grouper around the ridge.
- Dive 3: Two Tree Rock: Located close to Baby Rock, this beautiful wall dive features dramatic overhangs. Coral growth and marine life are similar to Baby Rock, with occasional sightings of Mobula rays.
- Sundowner Cruise: Enjoy a relaxing late afternoon with cocktails as we cruise toward Central Raja Ampat for an overnight sail.
Day 8: South Batanta (4 Dives)
- Dive 1 & 2: Algae Patch 2: Located in a picturesque bay, this muck dive starts with black sand and scattered stones from 2-7 m, descending into a mild slope dominated by Halimeda algae. A macro lover’s paradise: nudibranchs, cuttlefish, Wonderpus, ghost pipefish, weedy scorpionfish, and flasher wrasse (endemic to Raja Ampat) can all be found. Two dives here give more time to spot the unique critters.
- Dive 3: Algae Patch 1: Another great muck dive, similar in nature but with more black sand. It offers encounters with ghost pipefish, flamboyant cuttlefish, mimic octopus, and Wonderpus.
- Night Dive: Algae Patch 1: A continuation of macro diving, the night brings out more unusual critters. Look for bobtail squid, cuttlefish, flamboyant cuttlefish, and blue ring octopus.
Day 9: Penemu / Piaynemo (4 Dives + Trekking)
- Dive 1: My Reef: A submerged reef rising to 7 m, with ridges sloping down on all sides. Best dived during falling tide. Rich in marine life: Blacktip reef sharks, Barracuda, Napoleon wrasse, schooling Bigeye Trevally, and Wobbegong sharks are common. The reef is vibrant with gorgonians, black and green coral, and beautiful hard coral on top.
- Dive 2: Melissa’s Garden: One of Raja Ampat’s iconic sites — a massive hard coral garden stretching from 5–10 m. A truly breathtaking underwater landscape often visited by Blacktip reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, Giant Trevallies, Wobbegong sharks, turtles, and more.
- Dive 3: Keruo Channel: An exciting drift dive with excellent reef structure — ranging from slopes to mini walls, all densely covered in hard and soft corals, black corals, and gorgonian fans. Expect to encounter Blacktip reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, and Bumphead parrotfish.
- Hike to Piaynemo Viewpoint: A scenic hike (moderate fitness level) to enjoy the panoramic view of the famous karst island formations.
- Night Dive: Galaxy: Excellent night dive spot with plenty of macro and crustacean activity. Expect to see cuttlefish, bobtail squid, and the elusive blue ring octopus.
Day 10: Wayag (3 Dives)
- Morning: Wayag Viewpoint Hike: No morning dive today to allow time for a scenic hike to the iconic Wayag viewpoint. This short but steep climb rewards you with a panoramic view of the dramatic karst islands and turquoise lagoons — one of the most breathtaking sights in Raja Ampat.
- Dive 1: Bra Rock: A beautiful dive site starting from a reef top lush with hard coral, sloping gently down into deeper waters. The slope is richly adorned with soft corals, gorgonian fans, and vibrant green coral. A great site for macro photography, with occasional sightings of Blacktip reef sharks.
- Dive 2: Batu Wayag: An impressive wall dive featuring striking overhangs. The wall is densely covered with soft corals, gorgonians, and green coral. Marine life is abundant — expect Sweetlips, turtles, and frequent encounters with Blacktip reef sharks.
- Night Dive: Teluk Wayag: A well-protected site with almost no current, making it ideal for a relaxed night dive. The area is home to a variety of crustaceans and critters, with the chance of spotting the elusive Epaulette shark.
Day 11: Kri / Mansuar Island (4 Dives)
- Dive 1: Cape Kri: One of the most legendary dive sites in Raja Ampat, located at the northeastern tip of Kri Island. Renowned for massive fish schools including Batfish, Barracuda, Sweetlips, Bigeye Trevally, and sightings of Blacktip and Whitetip reef sharks.
- Dive 2: Sardine’s Reef: A submerged reef rising to 3 m with slopes on all sides. The top may appear plain, but the slope is spectacular. Rich coral diversity with bommies, gorgonian fans, and a variety of reef fish. Expect Wobbegong sharks, Trevally, Blacktip and Whitetip reef sharks, turtles, Bumphead parrotfish, and more.
- Dive 3: Sawandarek: A scenic afternoon dive starting from the village jetty, descending along a slope to a plateau at 22 m where Sweetlips often gather. Wobbegong sharks and turtles are frequently spotted. The dive ends near the jetty.
- Village Visit: Sawandarek Village: Take a walk around this charming Papuan village for a peek into local island life.
- Night Dive: Sawandarek: Explore the shallows around the pier — excellent for spotting crustaceans, cephalopods, and the vibrant nightlife of the reef.
Day 12: Wai & Birie (2 Dives)
- Dive 1: Wai East: A healthy reef with hard coral gardens, bommies, and colorful fish life. A relaxing dive to begin the day.
- Dive 2: Wai West: Another beautiful site on the opposite side of Wai Island, with sloping reefs and the possibility of turtle and reef shark sightings.
- Afternoon: Sail to Birie Island and anchor behind Papua Paradise Eco Resort. Resort visits or spa bookings may be arranged depending on sea conditions.
- Dinghy Cruise: Birdwatching: Explore the coastline in the late afternoon for a chance to spot birds of paradise and hornbills.
- Barbecue Dinner: Celebrate the final evening on board with a beach barbecue or dinner under the stars.
- Overnight: Cruise back to Sorong Harbor.
Day 13: Disembarkation at Sorong (SOQ)
- Guests disembark from the vessel by 10:00 AM at the latest. Our team will escort you to Sorong Airport or your hotel in the city.
The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
