Disclaimer
We wish to show you the best diving possible; however, a number of factors determine which route the Cruise Director and Captain will choose and which dive sites we visit. Weather conditions, tides, currents and the number of other dive vessels at a particular site all play a part in where the boat is heading to. While we attempt to ensure the number of dives we have scheduled is fulfilled, bad weather can hinder the yacht’s ability to reach a specific dive site in our scheduled time. The safety of all on board is paramount and we always do our best to offer diving at alternative sites, should we be unable to visit the sites listed below.
A Typical Day
The diving day has a typical schedule as follows:
● 06:00 Wake-up call
● 06:30 - 07:00 Light breakfast followed by a briefing and Dive 1
● 08:30 Full breakfast, relaxation period
● 10:30 Briefing and Dive 2
● 12:30 Lunch, relaxation period
● 14:30 Briefing and Dive 3
● 16:00 Snack, relaxation period
● 19:00 Dinner
(If we offer a sunset or night-dive, the schedule will be slightly amended.)
Trip Overview
Embark on a 9-day voyage of discovery, traversing from the rugged, culturally rich shores of Alor to the historic waters of the Banda Sea. This point-to-point expedition begins in Alor, a hidden gem of the Indonesian archipelago known for its pristine coral walls, critter-filled slopes, and vibrant local traditions. We then sail west, immersing ourselves in the raw power of the Banda Sea—diving active volcanoes, exploring remote atolls, and searching for schooling hammerhead sharks. The journey culminates in Ambon Bay, the global capital of muck diving. This itinerary is a perfect blend of Alor's untouched beauty and the Banda Sea's legendary pelagic action, offering a unique perspective on Indonesia's underwater wonders.
What to Expect
Alor's Pristine Coral Ecosystems: Discover the world-class walls and reefs of Alor, a less-explored paradise teeming with giant sea fans, schooling fish, and pristine hard corals.
The Hammerhead Shark Search: Dedicated dives at the remote seamount of Suanggi, one of Indonesia's premier sites for encountering schooling hammerhead sharks.
Volcanic & Unique Diving: Experience the otherworldly landscape of Manuk Island, where geothermal vents release streams of warm bubbles and sea snakes are abundant.
Cultural Immersion in Alor: Witness the ancient traditions and magnificent ikat weaving of the indigenous tribes in a traditional village.
World-Class Muck Diving Finale: Conclude your adventure in Ambon Bay, searching for the legendary Ambon scorpionfish and a host of other rare macro critters.
A Journey of Contrasts: From the clear, current-swept channels of Alor to the deep, pelagic-rich blues of the Banda Sea.

Detailed Itinerary
This is a sample itinerary. The itinerary may be altered based on the weather and sea conditions.
Day 1: Arrival in Alor & Check dive
Afternoon: Board the vessel in Kalabahi, Alor. After a warm welcome and safety briefing, we'll set sail to a nearby site.
Late Afternoon (1 Dive): Begin your adventure with a check dive on one of Alor's famous sites. Experience the clear waters and vibrant coral gardens that make this region so special.
Evening: Welcome dinner as we anchor in a serene bay.
Day 2: Alor's Underwater Treasures
Full Day (4 Dives): Dedicate the day to exploring Alor's best. Dive sites may include:
Kal's Dream: A magnificent wall adorned with giant gorgonian sea fans, famous for pygmy seahorses.
The Cathedral: An impressive underwater archway and cave system.
Anemone City: A vast garden of anemones teeming with clownfish.
Experience thrilling currents that bring in pelagic life and ensure incredible visibility.
Day 3: Alor Culture & Westward Sailing
Morning (2 Dives): Enjoy two final morning dives in Alor, perhaps at a beautiful reef slope or a critter-rich muck site.
Afternoon: Cultural Excursion. Go ashore to visit a traditional Alor village, known for its unique megalithic culture and magnificent ikat weaving.
Evening: We begin our westward crossing towards the Banda Sea.
Day 4: Pulau Hatta - The Pristine Atoll
Full Day (3-4 Dives): Arrive at the remote atoll of Pulau Hatta. Immerse yourself in its spectacularly healthy reefs, dramatic walls, and crystal-clear waters. This is a paradise of hard corals, home to a fantastic diversity of reef fish, sharks, and rays.
Day 5: Suanggi - The Hammerhead Quest
Full Day (3 Dives): We spend the day at the submerged volcano of Suanggi. This is one of Indonesia's most famed sites for encountering schooling hammerhead sharks. The deep, blue-water walls and strong currents create the perfect pelagic conditions for an adrenaline-filled day.
Day 6: Manuk Island - Volcanoes & Sea Snakes
Full Day (3-4 Dives): Dive the slopes of the active Manuk Island. The walls are covered in colorful soft corals, and the unique draw is the chance to dive alongside natural geothermal vents on the seafloor. Be surrounded by the abundant and graceful banded sea snakes.
Late Afternoon: Opportunity to land on the island for a short hike.
Day 7: Banda Islands - History & Coral Cathedrals
Morning (2 Dives): Arrive in the fabled Banda Islands. Dive sites like Batu Kapal, a stunning pinnacle attracting pelagics.
Afternoon: Guided land excursion on Banda Neira, including a trek to Fort Belgica and a visit to a nutmeg plantation.
Late Afternoon (1 Dive): A final dive in the Bandas to soak in the rich underwater history.
Day 8: Ambon Bay - Muck Diving Grand Finale
Morning (2 Dives): Conclude your diving adventure in Ambon Bay, the global capital of muck diving. At legendary sites like Laha Bay, scour the black sand slopes for the legendary Ambon scorpionfish, wonderpus, rhinopias, and a host of other rare macro critters.
Beach BBQ: We land on a secluded beach for a classic barbecue celebration, a perfect way to reflect on the week's adventures.
Evening: Bill Settlement with Cruise Director after dinner
Day 9: Disembarkation in Ambon after breakfast
Morning: Enjoy a final breakfast on board.
After Breakfast: Disembark at Ambon Harbor. Transfer to Pattimura Airport (AMQ) for your flight home.
