The southern Sea of Cortez offers excellent diving, typically calm seas, and by late July - August, great visibility and warm water. Expect to be surrounded by huge, swirling tornadoes of schooling fish, interactive California sea lions, moray eels, various rays, large pods of dolphins, and possibly even pilot whales. We will do our best to get you close to schooling hammerheads and even explore some wrecks. Likely dive sites include Cerralvo, La Reyna, Espiritu Santo, Las Animas, and further north, often venturing into Loreto National Park. Our spotter airplane will be on the lookout for orcas, sperm whales, mobula rays, and other large marine animals. The adventure begins in Cabo San Lucas, departing and returning from La Paz, with complimentary transfers back to either SJD or SeeCreatures Cabo.

Itinerary Sample

Day 1
The trip meets at SeeCreatures Cabo San Lucas at 05:30 pm for a complimentary transfer to La Paz, where you will board the ship. Our hostesses will be there to welcome you onboard with margaritas and champagne.

Day 2 - 7
Diving and having fun during the day and traveling in the evening or overnight to get to new dive sites. The specialty of this trip is exploring the loop from La Paz up to Loreto and back stopping in at our favorite “classic dive sites” as well as new sites that we have recently discovered. We are proactively exploring all the time and even after all these years, we are finding new dive sites. Your captain and dive guides will maximize the experience based on changing conditions and where the best animal sightings are.

Final Day
Returning to La Paz at 08:30 am, with a complimentary transfer back to either SJD or Cabo San Lucas.

The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
