This liveaboard adventure will take you through the renowned dive sites of Komodo National Park and the lesser-explored Alor Archipelago. Expect exceptional diving experiences with vibrant coral reefs, thrilling drift dives, and encounters with large pelagics like manta rays, sharks, and turtles. From the world-famous sites of Komodo to the pristine underwater landscapes of Alor, this trip offers an unforgettable journey in one of the world’s top diving destinations.
What to Expect
- Komodo National Park
Famous for its manta rays, shark encounters, strong currents, and abundant coral reefs, Komodo is a diver’s paradise. Explore sites like Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, and Manta Point—where encounters with mantas are almost guaranteed. - Alor Archipelago
A true off-the-beaten-path destination, Alor is known for its incredible macro life, including frogfish, mimic octopuses, and sea slugs, as well as dramatic volcanic underwater topography. Sites like Kalabahi Bay and Ternyata Reef offer a perfect mix of relaxed and adventurous dives. - Pelagic Encounters
Dive through areas known for sightings of whale sharks, oceanic mantas, and tuna, especially in the deeper areas of Komodo and Alor. - Diverse Marine Life
Expect to see a variety of marine life, including reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, barracuda, schools of jackfish, turtles, and a multitude of colorful reef fish.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Boarding in Labuan Bajo
- Arrive in Labuan Bajo and transfer to the liveaboard boat.
- Safety briefing, boat orientation, and dive preparations.
- Settle in for the night onboard; no diving today.
Day 2 to Day 4: Komodo National Park Diving
- Diving: 2-3 dives per day at world-class dive sites in Komodo.
- Dive Sites:
- Manta Point: Dive with mantas and enjoy the crystal-clear waters.
- Castle Rock: Strong currents attract pelagics like sharks and large schools of fish.
- Crystal Rock: Vibrant coral gardens and abundant marine life.
- Tatawa Kecil: Gorgeous coral gardens with fish and invertebrate diversity.
Dive with sharks, Napoleon wrasse, turtles, and schools of jacks while exploring vibrant coral reefs.
Day 5: Sail to Alor
- Early morning sail towards Alor, with a light dive in the evening to explore the reefs around Pantar Strait or Kalabahi Bay.
Day 6 to Day 8: Alor Archipelago Diving
- Diving: 2-3 dives per day at the pristine and diverse dive sites around Alor.
- Dive Sites:
- Ternyata Reef: A fantastic site for vibrant coral reefs and pelagic sightings.
- Kalabahi Bay: Known for critters such as frogfish, sea horses, and octopuses.
- Pantar Strait: Thrilling drift dives with a rich variety of fish and healthy reefs.
- Batu Termanu: A hidden dive spot with healthy reefs and abundant fish life.
Encounter mimic octopuses, sea snakes, barracudas, and reef fish.
Day 9: Final Day of Diving
- Continue with 2-3 dives at some of the best remaining dive sites in Komodo or Alor, depending on weather conditions and the boat's location.
- Enjoy the final dives at Ternyata Reef, Pantar Strait, or another thrilling site before returning to Alor.
Day 10: Return to Alor
- No diving on the last day.
- After breakfast, the boat will return to Alor for disembarkation by 12:00 PM.
The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
