DAY 2-7
This trip has been running for 45 years and over that time have learned a thing or two about the best diving in the Sea of Cortez. Departing from La Paz to get you straight out to our favorite dive sites, you can expect to dive La Reyna (fingers crossed on giant mantas!!), El Baja, Espiritu Santo, La Animas, the pinnacles west of San Franciscito, and an easy overnight run to the best diving. spectacular scenery and gorgeous white sand beaches off Loreto. You can expect an average of 4 dives a day including some night dives, shore expeditions, kayaking and paddle boarding, and that beautiful Mexican night sky from our hot tub. Spotter airplane supported us to try and get us on the big critters. Inside Tip - the visibility and water temps start increasing dramatically sometime in July. September onwards is a beautiful time to dive the Sea of Cortez with water temps in the 80s, visibility 100 - 150 feet, and generally calm seas
DAY 8
We will arrive back in Cabo San Lucas sometime around 7:30 am on the last day of your trip for breakfast and disembark at 8:30 am. We will have shuttles on standby for those who want to drop off their bags and spend one last day in town before an afternoon flight home. Or for those who prefer, your transfer van can pick you up directly at the boat and take you to the airport. Your last day is always sad for us. We hate to say goodbye. But wait, you don’t have to say goodbye just yet. There is still time to head up to Cabo Pulmo with us for a one-day adventure. Or for divers, this could be your chance to dive into the famous pinnacles of Gordo Banks before you go home!
Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez the aquarium of the world. Expect to see a lot of fish. A LOT of fish! Whale sharks are in season. California sea lions. Giant manta rays at one particular site. A variety of shark species possibly including bulls and hammerheads (noting that the Sea of Cortez is nowhere near as sharkie as Socorro), several shipwrecks, garden eels, and diving cormorant birds.
