But the adventure doesn’t stop there. The journey transitions from the dense mangroves of Asmat to the crystal-clear waters of Raja Ampat, a crown jewel of Indonesia’s archipelago. With its vibrant coral reefs, diverse marine life, and pristine islands, Raja Ampat offers some of the best snorkeling and diving opportunities in the world. Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Timika
As you step onto the shores of West Papua in Timika, your adventure aboard Mutiara Laut begins. Our crew will warmly welcome you before escorting you to the port, where a refreshing drink awaits. After a short safety briefing, we set sail toward Agats and the Asmat territory that we will reach the next day.
Day 2: Asmat Territory
Navigate narrow river channels by canoe through the mangroves, immersing yourself in this untouched natural habitat. Visit an Asmat village to witness their vibrant culture and partake in a grand drum ceremony, an unforgettable cultural experience.
Day 3:Asmat Territory
Embark on a full-day boat excursion to explore surrounding villages near Agats, with breathtaking views along the way. witness a magnificent boat ceremony featuring over 50 traditional canoes and 200 men, creating an extraordinary atmosphere of celebration.
Day 4: Navigation to Triton Bay
Sail towards Triton Bay along the Papuan coast, discovering the unique wonders of Triton Bay’s marine paradise. Swim with majestic whale sharks, visit iconic spots like Little Komodo and Boo’s Rainbow, and snorkel at the traditional Bagan fishing platforms.
Day 5-7: Triton Bay
For the next few days, we explore Triton Bay, an underwater utopia where marine biodiversity thrives in vivid coral gardens, towering pinnacles, and hidden swim-throughs.
Renowned for encounters with majestic whale sharks, this region offers unparalleled diving and snorkeling experiences. Marvel at the psychedelic hues of Little Komodo, drift past Boo’s Rainbow’s kaleidoscopic corals and witness the extraordinary relationship between local fishermen and whale sharks at the traditional Bagan fishing platforms.
With each sunrise, a new discovery awaits—this is nature at its most raw, rich, and breathtaking.
Day 8: Kiti Kiti Waterfall
Nature’s masterpiece reveals itself at Kiti Kiti Waterfall, a mesmerizing cascade where freshwater tumbles directly into the open sea. Enveloped by towering jungle cliffs, this hidden paradise offers a serene retreat—swim beneath the falls, snorkel among vibrant coral gardens, or simply revel in the untouched beauty of this secluded gem.
Day 9: Pisang Island
As we continue our voyage north, we arrive at the pristine shores of Pulau Pisang, a deserted island straight out of a dream. Here, powder-soft sands and crystalline waters beckon-spend your day kayaking through tranquil lagoons, snorkeling over thriving coral reefs, or simply basking in the bliss of pure isolation.
Day 10 - 13: Misool
The Raja Ampat adventure begins as we sail into the otherworldly realm of Misool. This southernmost gem of the archipelago is a wonderland of dramatic limestone cliffs, sapphire lagoons, and labyrinthine caves—a paradise both above and below the waterline.
Renowned for its coral-draped reefs and spectacular marine biodiversity, Misool offers world-class diving and snorkeling sites.
Beyond the sea, we explore Tomolol Cave, a mystical cavern where crystal-studded walls and towering stalactites create an ethereal setting. Swimming through its cool, shadowy chambers is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, where nature’s artistry is on full display. Each moment in Misool is a revelation—a final crescendo to our grand expedition.
Day 14: Sorong
As dawn breaks over Sorong, we gather for one last breakfast on deck, reflecting on the journey we’ve shared. From the untamed jungles of Asmat to the pristine coral kingdoms of Raja Ampat, this has been more than an expedition—it has been a voyage through time, culture, and nature’s most magnificent creations.
With the assistance of our devoted crew, we disembark Mutiara Laut, carrying with us not just memories, but the spirit of Eastern Indonesia—a place of mystery, beauty, and boundless adventure.

Marine Life: At least 75 percent of all coral species can be found in Raja Ampat, divers can expect a range of topography from soft corals and sea fans, to hard corals, seagrass beds, mangroves, shallow reefs, deep drop-offs, caves, black sand and white sand. Giant manta rays, sea turtles, sharks, cuttlefish, pipefish, various seahorse species, and massive schools of reef fish are the norm, plus the delightful wobbegong sharks and Epaulette sharks inhabit these waters too.
The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
