We invite scuba divers-enthusiasts to join the liveaboard expedition. The trip includes hard-to-reach spots of Zabargad, which have not been visited for the last 10 years!
The boat will be parked on the islands of Rocky and Zabargad for at least 2 days, instead of the usual 2 dives. A rare route - the islands are strategic objects, therefore obtaining a permit for long-term parking is an extremely difficult process.
A truly unique week! Absolutely iconic route, perfect for those who have already visited the Far South and want to discover new facets of the Red Sea. The goal is the islands; including four zones: Zabargad, Rocky, St. Johns, and Sataya-Fury Shoal islands.
As part of this trip, it is scheduled:
• To explore the island of Zabargad from all three sides; lagoon, and walls (high chance to meet sharks); dives in the North and West of the island, where diving has not been carried out for almost 10 years.
• Highlight the route! Russian spy ship that sank during the Cold War near the island of Zabargad.
• Walls on Rocky Island, morning dive on Rocky Island (very high chances to meet sharks)
•100% HITS: Mother of the caves; iconic sites on Sataya fury shoal- Disneyland, Claudio, Malachi; House of Dolphins, where meeting with dolphins is practically guaranteed.
Zabargad is a big island. This unique place offers an amazing diversity of scuba spots. The famous southern part: there are magnificent corals with sandy steps smoothly descending to the depth. A unique place that any diver or any experience could fully enjoy. Possible to encounter lots of different underwater creatures, like turtles, moray eels, and even dolphins. “Coral Garden” of the South is a great place for 2-3 dives to be performed.
The very special highlight of the itinerary is a sunken ship at the old pier on the eastern part of Zabargad island. The wreck lies against the wall of the reef inside the lagoon, it starts at a depth of 5 M and descends up to 24 M. Covered by corals, this highlight is not just an object of extraordinary underwater beauty but also a real historical point. The wreck “Hanka” is surrounded by rumors. There are some serial number plates on the ship, which makes it possible to “discover” the origins. There are two research dives planned. After exploration of this rare gem to finish the dive we will pass through the coral corridor.
The exploration part consists of diving in the West and North of the island. There is normally no scuba diving carried, all of the scuba dive guides we spoke to – didn’t dive there for at least the last 10 years. We will go west and north to update the information. An alternative for those who don't want to "experiment" is to dive on the coral steps in the south.
An overnight stay at Zabargad – an opportunity to perform one of the best night dives in the Red Sea. A memory to be created.
The itinerary is complemented by “famous” reefs in the far south as the mother of the caves, Sataya fury shoal, Disneyland, Claudio, Malachi, and Dolphin House, encounters with dolphins are practically guaranteed.
Zabargad island – a real historical spot having routs up to ancient times. References to Zabargad were found at the time of the Roman Empire.
Almost all scuba dives are planned on Rocky Island- drop-offs with currents. In a strong current, you can find a lot of sharks. At this wonderful scuba, spot water has “magical” conditions- visibility up to 80 M and specific colors. Rocky Island is a “must”- after visiting this spot even once, it will stay with you forever!
St Johns is a well-known scuba spot for its amazing coral reefs; the southern part of the Red Sea is closer to the Tropic of Cancer and Zabargad Island. St Johns reed system consists of more than 10 different reefs, even one week is not enough to explore this spot! We will visit 3-4 of them.
On the way back to Marsa Alam it is planned to visit the famous Fury Shoal – Sataya; well-known dive sites, such as Maksur, Claudia, Malahy, Abu Galawa, and Sataya.
The itinerary is a real gem! A diversity of scuba spots can be a perfect solution for a scuba trip for any diver, of any level of experience.
The itinerary is very full and diverse, recommended to all divers.

On the island of Zabargad is located the Navy base of the naval forces of the Army of Egypt. Permission to navigate in the area of the islands Zabaragad and Rocky are obtained in addition to the Army. In some cases, the military does not give permission to navigate in the areas of the islands. Such prohibitions may affect the region of St Johns. Our routine is to request permission on Monday and receive a response on Thursday, 2 days before the trip. In the case of a ban on navigation in the areas of Zabargad and Rocky, as well as the areas of St Johns and Abu Fendira, the route will be changed to accessible. Compensation and reimbursement are not possible.
Marina departure/arrival can be changed due to internal boat logistics, bad weather conditions on a previous week, or bad weather forecast. In case of changes, all transfers are provided to the new marina. Cannot issue a refund or compensations.
The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
