Welcome to Hanifaru Bay, a UNESCO biosphere reserve and marine protected area in the Maldives' Baa Atoll. From May to November, witness the incredible feeding frenzy of manta rays and whale sharks in crystal-clear waters. This site, known for its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life, is ideal for snorkelers. Strict regulations ensure the preservation of this natural wonder, making it a must-visit destination for marine enthusiasts.
Sample Itinerary:
Day 1:
Meet & greet at the airport. Group transfer to the port. Onboarding, meeting the crew & briefing.
Days 2-7: Featured Dive Sites:
- North Malé Atoll
- Fish Tank: Known for large schools of stingrays and occasional sightings of guitar sharks or tiger sharks.
- Lankan Beyru (Manta Point): A popular cleaning station for manta rays, accessible with minimal currents.
Baa Atoll - Hanifaru Bay: Snorkeling only, with seasonal gatherings of manta rays and whale sharks.
- Vaadhoo Thila: Rich in marine life, suitable for experienced divers.
- Dhonfan Thila: A small reef known for schooling fish and occasional manta sightings.
Noonu Atoll - Orimas Thila: A deep site with cleaning stations for gray reef sharks and eagle rays, ideal for experienced divers.
Day 8:
Check-out from the yacht and transfer to the airport.
The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
